Hi there folks! I don’t really know who or how many people read this blog. But for those who do and who don’t know me personally…

2008 is going to be a huge year for me as it’ll see the completion of the biggest deal of my life. I’m getting married. This has been viewed as a positive turn by those who know me in a business capacity as they feel that, if I have managed to convince a woman to put up with my countless faults, quite literally ad infinitum, then getting funding for any project I desire shouldn’t be a problem.

My hoards of screaming fans are of course disappointed, and to you I apologise…

Myself and the beautiful Jessica Roy will be married on Friday 13th of June 2008 in Ennis, Co. Clare, Ireland. No one called Jason can come, especially if they own a hockey mask…

I will be elaborating on the interesting story of how we met and the triumphs and disasters of the wedding plans here as we go forward. Tips, tricks, money savers and suggestions for the event itself are all welcome as are large donations.

Sabrina Dent and Ina are extending an invitation to all of Ireland’s women bloggers to join them for tea and cakes (or martinis and olives, if you prefer) for a few hours before the Irish Blog Awards on March 1st.

What:

An informal get together to meet, dish the dirt, and chat about women and blogging in Ireland. Make friends before the Blog Awards so you know more friendly faces in the swarm!

From 4:30 until whenever, probably around 6:30 PM

The Market Bar is approximately 12 minutes on foot from The Alexander Hotel, where the Irish Blog Awards are taking place at 7:30 PM. There is free WiFi and a tapas style menu on offer.

Hi folks. Registration for TechLudd is now open. The first event is on 24 January in Dublin at 7pm, so if you’re interested in start-ups ad what they do, and chatting about what you do, come along and have a cool evening with cool people.

Hi there guys some developments with the meetup in January.

When: January 24th 6pm

Where: Input needed! Gravity bar was suggested by Joe Drumgoole but it’s not available although The Brewery bar is. Also ElyHQ in hanover Quay has been suggested.

Who: 3/4 Entrepeneurs and a Keynote speaker. Need some suggestions on who people would like to see. Some so far are: Loic Le Meur, Robert Scoble, Chris Horn…  

Shane also suggested a web video link to one or more industry leading lights for a 20 min Q&A if we can’t get them to come. Views on this idea (whatever you think) and anyone willing to offer help out setting it up appreciated.

Grainne has indicated in the comments of the previous post that intertrade are interested in coming and possibly supporting this. Thanks Grainne.

We’re hoping to get some of the investment community around too. Suggestions here appreciated too.. (BES, VC, Angels, UK -VCs? Who do you want to meet?) 

Any and all other suggestions for this event are welcome too. There will be a website and wiki soon for this as well.

Ok guys I’ve had some responses and interest about the event pencilled in for the 24th Jan.

Here is the current suggested format. All comments suggestions and criticism are welcome…

When: Thurs 24th Jan 6pm

Where: Exact Location TBC, Dublin

Who: 3/4 entrepeneurs presenting and one celeb if people want that. (You guys suggest who you want we’ll see if we can get them)

What: Format will be Presentation by 3/4 companies then demo for about 8 depending on location. (presenters can demo too if they want). followed by networking and a few beers.

6-6:30 - Mingling and getting setup for presentations/demos

6:30-7:15ish - Presentations- Short and sweet anyone with questions ask them during the demobar.

7:30-8:30 - Demo Bar so people can be comfortable talking about what they’re doing and networking can happen naturally.

8:30-whenever -  Pure networking and relaxing
